Our story
Eight decades of learning in Akim Swedru
Akim Swedru Senior High School has grown from a teacher training college into a proud co-educational day and boarding school serving the Birim South District and beyond.

A heritage of perseverance
Established in 1946 as a Teacher Training College, the school was converted into a Secondary School in October 1970. Generations of Anuanom have since passed through its classrooms, carrying the motto "Perseverance brings Success" into every field of national life.
AKISSS is also one of the few schools in Ghana that has benefited from the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers programme (JOCV–JICA), strengthening teaching in science, mathematics and practical subjects.
